Acumen has partnered with Tavros Care (tavroscare.com), an entrepreneurial Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Company that is poised for growth in this $50.9 billion dollar industry.  This HCBS Company has doubled in size over the last 12 months and has opened a search for the right person to fulfill the duties of the Vice President of Operations. The VP of Operations will be responsible for delivering operational, financial, and clinical goals of the programs where the Residents reside, as well as serve as a strategic partner to the President in helping to create and implement growth initiatives.

The organization is in the process of building and refining their recruiting, training, and operations processes in order to be more scalable and support planned growth – they are Team and Resident centric, work hand-in-hand with the State Departments of Health and Human Services and have a strong management team in place. They are at the beginning of implementing new processes and systems for scalability (including the EOS model). 

The successful candidate will be a “roll up your sleeves” entrepreneurial type of individual with strong leadership skills, analytic horsepower, and able to translate strategic goals into actionable plans. The ability to quickly get oriented to the business and industry, while contributing proactively to launching new programs will be critical to success.

As the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and oversite of the day-to-day running of entire portfolio of programs (11+ locations)
  • Delivering results – clinical, operational, team member recruiting/retention, and financial goals
  • Problem Solving Team member (i.e., Employee) Issues – address specific Team Member issues to improve results and performance in a way that promotes professional and personal growth and enhances Team Member/Employer relationship
  • Creating an actionable and well-crafted short term and long-term plans to turn Strategy into reality
  • Quarterly Planning Meetings – Review progress made in the past quarter on the goals set for the current year’s Strategic plan and recent new goals for the coming quarter
  • Monthly Planning Meetings – Review progress made in the past month on the goals set for the current quarter to ensure the company is on track to achieve the goals and priorities set for the current quarter
  • Annual Company Development Meeting – An annual mandatory, company-wide meeting to celebrate wins and communicate challenges plus communicate to all Team Members the progress made on the Strategic Plan and the new goals and priorities established at the most recent Annual Strategic Planning Meeting
  • Budgeting by developing a relatable financial forecast of anticipated revenue and expenses and then review and report on the differences between what was actual and what was budgeted
  • Employee Performance Reviews by evaluating operational performance regularly according to company goals and objectives.  Evaluate, monitor, and report overall performance through key performance indicators
  • Department and Company Innovation – Provide input, ideas, and feedback so the processes, policies, and results of the department can become more effective and efficient
  • Addressing & responding to formal complaints while maintaining a record of complaints and grievances, as well as addressing them according to OAR’s. Respond to informal complaints and formal grievances
  • Spirit of collaboration, positive energy, and a commitment to being a constructive team member

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of experience in multi-site healthcare operations (multi-state a plus)
  • Experience implementing scalable processes in a high growth environment
  • P&L management of $10M+
  • Experience leading and developing leaders and frontline supervisors
  • Effective problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills as applied to internal teams, customers, and vendors
  • Experience in Home and Community Based Care experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational plans and results
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality
  • A hands-on leader with integrity, can-do attitude, resourceful, action-oriented, reliable, and team player
  • High character traits (ethics and honesty) and ability and willingness to take and defend difficult positions when necessary
  • Strong commitment to developing team members
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification and development of metrics and measurements to successfully manage, control, and profitably grow businesses
  • Demonstrated experience in the evaluation of business controls (identification of control weaknesses) and in the implementation of control improvements together with the development of methods to efficiently monitor controls compliance on an ongoing basis
