Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Our Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Statement

Because each organization approaches diversity, inclusion, and belonging differently, we begin each search by listening carefully to understand your mission, values, and community—ensuring we identify candidates who will strengthen both leadership and culture.
Acumen is committed to helping organizations build leadership teams that reflect the communities they serve. As a woman-owned search firm, we have supported inclusive and culturally responsive hiring practices since 2007.
Our approach expands candidate pools, recognizes varied leadership pathways, and values both professional and lived experience. Over the years, 68% of the leaders we have placed have been women and/or individuals from underrepresented communities, reflecting our commitment to identifying and advancing talented professionals from underserved backgrounds. We recognize that individuals bring different experiences and needs, and we intentionally design our hiring practices to ensure those differences are understood, valued, and supported.
We also support hiring committees in evaluating candidates holistically and building search processes that welcome a broad range of perspectives and lived experiences.
