About PIVOT Job Corps (check out their website):
Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Job Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (supercedes WIA 1998). For more information about the Job Corps program at a national level, please visit our Official Public Web Site.
At Partners in Vocational Opportunity Training (PIVOT) Job Corps Center, we support the Job Corps program’s mission of teaching eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and placing them in meaningful jobs or further education.
Who is PIVOT?
PIVOT Job Corps Center, a satellite of Springdale Job Corps Center, is overseen by the San Francisco Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated via partnership by Management and Training Corporation and Chugach Alaska Corporation. Our Site Director is Tyna Moreschi.
PIVOT Job Corps was established in 1989 in beautiful Portland, Oregon. Uniquely different than traditional Job Corps centers, PIVOT serves an all female non-residential student population. PIVOT is known for its hands-on, industry-relevant training. We possess a dedicated faculty and staff invested in maintaining the standards of excellence. We provide students with the best possible career training and employers a professional pool of applicants.
Students at PIVOT can pursue their passion for Office Technology or Medical Office Support without having to worry about tuition cost, because the students get paid!
PIVOT’s campus is located in the magnificent Montgomery Park building at the edge of historic northwest Portland. Montgomery Park offers a first-class business setting surrounded by the northwest hills of Forest Park. For more than 45 years, Job Corps has successfully prepared students for the positions that industries and organizations demand. Whether you’re looking for some extra office help, interested in supporting PIVOT, or want to support young women, PIVOT is a great place to start.
